Murdoch(s) at the BBC
Seems Elisabeth Murdoch is a surprise contender for director general of the beeb. The Twiiter maltdown has already began. Which i find amusing.

Sven

I wouldn't. I'd fund the world service out of the foreign office and make the bbc fund itself from worldwide sales of its "world-class" programmes.

If it was subscription only, the only bit I'd consider paying for is cbeebies whilst my youngest still watches it.

I'd prefer it if it was burnt down and then had the earth salted upon which it stood.

BBC definitely needs a shake up , a slim down and a refocus on what it should be doing.
Personally I’d scrap the licence fee and finance it out of general taxation (a smaller amount) and a limited amount of advertising and programme sponsorship.

First thing would be to sack all the ludicrously high earners like Lineker , Chris Evans & Norton.
Plus wind back the salaries of autocue readers like Hugh Edwards.

Trundle, me too.

I can't believe how low they have fallen. I used to love the bbc probably up to ten or fifteen years ago.

It really is true. Get woke, go broke.

"A diminished BBC would weaken the country as a whole" - BBC Chairman Sir David Clementi

Brilliant stuff . They've learnt nothing from BREXIT and will soon find out the pubic aren't falling for Project Fear any more.

I can't wait for the day the licence fee is scrapped.

Re: Murdoch(s) at the BBC
She was head of the production company behind masterchef and Broadchurch among others. Whether this makes her any good or not is a matter of opinion i guess.

The fact that shevis the daughter of Rupert Murdoch is the causevof much angst on SM. That and the fact that Boris and Cummings would approve of her appointment.
